Anda and East Bohol: Which Day Tour Is Worth the Long Drive
6 min read
The east of Bohol is a long way from Panglao: the tours’ own itineraries put the van ride at around three hours each way. That makes the choice of tour matter. For most people, the private tour to Anda, Candijay and Alicia Panoramic Park is the one to book: from €73.59 per person, 4.7 stars from 11 reviews, 7 to 12 hours, with entrance fees to the main destinations and hotel pickup in Panglao, Dauis or Tagbilaran included. For the cave pools and waterfalls on a shared day, the Anda caves and rice terraces tour is €66.80, starting from Abraham Bohol resort in Panglao.

What the tours cover
The private Anda, Candijay and Alicia tour stops at Can-umantad Falls, the Cadapdapan rice terraces, Cabagnaw Cave Pool and Quinale Beach; Alicia Panoramic Park, Lamanok Island, Princess Manan-aw Cave or Canawa Cold Spring depend on the option you book. Entrance fees to the main destinations are included; food and drinks are at your own expense. The €66.80 tour swims in two caves, Cabagnow and Combento, visits Can-umantad Falls – “the tallest and most powerful waterfall in Bohol”, in the listing’s words – and the Cadapdapan rice terraces, and takes the whole 12 hours. The last stretch to the falls is a short ride on the back of a motorbike. Fees and permits are covered; lunch is paid in cash on the day. The private Anda tour from Panglao covers Cabagnow Cave Pool, Can-umantad Falls, the rice terraces and time on the Anda coast, with hotel pickup from Panglao, Dauis or Tagbilaran; entrance fees and local activity charges are paid separately on site, getting into the cave pool means climbing down over natural terrain, and the listing says the trip suits guests who value private transport more than a guided experience. The Lamanok Island tour adds Quinale Beach and Lamanok Island’s caves and rock formations to the cave pool, the rice terraces and Can-umantad Falls, in a shorter 8-hour day for up to 10 people; it meets at McDonald’s in Panglao, and whether meals and entrance fees are covered is something to confirm on the booking page.

One thing to check: the cave pool
Cabagnow Cave Pool is reported to charge a small entrance fee (about ₱50, plus a ₱30 environmental fee) and to run roughly 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.. One local guide site says it is closed to swimmers on Mondays and Fridays. Check that on the day you want to go and ask your operator whether the cave pool is open that day, because a closed pool changes what the whole trip is worth.
Is it worth the drive?
If you have only one or two days, the west and centre of the island – the Chocolate Hills loop and the waterfall day – have far more reviews behind them. The east is for second-time visitors and people who want fewer crowds. Taking your own driver makes the long road easier: our private tour guide explains the options. Browse the waterfalls and caves page for more.
Our recommendation
For most visitors: the private Anda, Candijay and Alicia Panoramic Park tour – private, with hotel pickup and entrance fees to the main destinations included; choose the option that includes the stops you want. If you want the cave pool and are happy to share: the €66.80 tour.
Skip it if this is your first day on Bohol, or if a 12-hour day sounds like too much.
